Amber at Gold Silver Time
Amber artefacts, which have made Poland famous all over the world, are presented at Gold Silver Time in various incarnations: from contemporary jewellery through functional art to museum and trade fair exhibits.
Amber has had a continuous presence at the Warsaw-based event for 13 years now, with the number of amber-oriented exhibitors—manufacturers, artists and designers—steadily growing year on year. In recent years, the design of jewellery decorated with this fossilised resin has also been changing—by departing from traditional models towards light contemporary forms.Manufacturers more and more often decide to use natural stones as ones which give a greater creative opportunity and are most highly valued by customers.
The 14th edition of GST will be even more amber intensive than before: companies participating in a promotion programme for the jewellery and amber industry will be among those to present their products in Warsaw. GST organiser, the MCT International Fair Centre, is one of the implementers of the 2012-2015 promotion programme.
It is until the end of May 2013 that you can see a remarkable exhibition Amber not Only by the Baltic Sea at the Polish Academy of Sciences Museum of the Earth, Warsaw. The exhibition is compelling in both the quantity and quality of exhibits which document the amber craft traditions of southern and central Poland from historical times to present day. The exhibition is co-organised by the MCT International Fair Centre.
